Structural alignment's role in mechanics + mindset

Presentation Description:

Optimal performance begins with alignment, both structural and neurological. This session explores how postural organization influences biomechanics, breath, and mindset. When the body is efficiently aligned, the diaphragm can fully relax, activating the parasympathetic nervous system to reduce inflammation, calm stress, and sharpen focus. Attendees will learn how structural neutrality creates a “safe” nervous system that naturally expands range of motion, optimizes mechanical sequencing, and enhances on-field performance. Drawing from DNS, PRI, and modern movement science, Tracy Tanguay shares actionable drills and strategies to restore alignment, improve breathing mechanics, and integrate body-mind connection into training. Coaches, trainers, and therapists will leave with a deeper understanding of how to create efficient, adaptable athletes who move, think, and perform with greater consistency, confidence, and flow.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand how structural alignment and postural organization influence diaphragm function, parasympathetic activation, and overall nervous system regulation.
  2. Learn evidence-informed strategies and drills from DNS, PRI, and mobility training to restore structural neutrality, enhance breathing efficiency, and improve mechanical sequencing.
  3. Apply principles of alignment and nervous system safety to improve athletic performance, reduce stress and inflammation, and enhance mental focus and recovery.

Sh!t About Movement Athletes Should Know

Presentation Description:

This session reveals the often-missed foundations of elite movement. Tracy Tanguay, founder of The Liminal Method and fondly recognized as MobilityChick, breaks down how to eliminate energy leaks and unlock efficiency through intentional transitions—the liminal space between movements. When alignment, breath, and structure are organized, power transfers cleanly through the body with less strain and greater control. Using her Triple-S cueing system (Skull, Scaps, Sacrum) and the Principle of Opposition, Tracy teaches how to coach and cue athletes through transitions with clarity, helping them connect structure to sensation. Attendees will explore how the nervous system responds to alignment, how to stabilize without tension, and how to move with precision, adaptability, and flow. Coaches, trainers, and athletes will leave with actionable tools to enhance mechanical efficiency, sharpen focus, and expand athletic potential through smarter, more connected movement.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand how the liminal space, the transitions between movements, affects energy transfer, coordination, and overall performance efficiency.
  2. Learn how to apply the Principle of Opposition and other cues such as Triple-S and T-8 back to create more efficient structural alignment, balance tension, and improve movement control.
  3. Develop practical strategies for coaching athletes through transitions using alignment, breath, and nervous system awareness to reduce energy leaks, prevent injury, and enhance precision, focus, and flow.
